HOW DOES IT WORK?
"I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.” - James Baldwin
As human beings, when we experience conflict or uncertainty we often reach for easy mental models to cope, which look something like this:
"All the people who look like me are good.
All the people who don’t look like me are bad.”
“All the people who think like me are good.
All the people who don’t think like me are bad.”
“All the people who believe what I believe are good.
All the people who don’t believe what I believe are bad.”
Mental leaps like these are where bigotry actually stems from!
DOJO! was built to help us break that pattern.
Our 3-min practices are designed to help you enter into deeper relationships with yourself and others so that you can respond to feelings of insecurity with curiosity, compassion, and love. By completing practices on a daily basis, the mental models holding you back will be replaced and you will be able to navigate conflict and uncertainty from a place of peace, curiosity and love.

Handled with Care
"I've been frustrated with one of my staff. Recently I decided to broach the subject, but instead of accusing them about their lack of care I began by asking them how they're doing. I discovered some frustrations they've had and that they were dealing with some things in their personal life. We talked it out and by then end they helped me better understand what motivates them and how I could support their interests. They went back to work that day with more excitement than they've had in a long time.
"I know someone who is going through a lot in their personal life which sometimes affects their work life. I feel I was able to offer good feedback to help them manage their work/life balance and how to keep being the person everyone wants to see. Needless to say I got the strongest hug I think I've ever experienced in my life."
